I am a board certified ophthalmologist with over 30 years of medical and surgical experience. Since retiring from the Navy, I have provided comprehensive eye care and cataract surgery in a private practice setting and am excited to continue my career with The Eye Professionals.
My Naval service started as a medical intern and resident in Ophthalmology at the Naval Hospital San Diego after graduating from New York University Medical School. My residency in Ophthalmology trained me to be an ophthalmologist as well as a cataract surgeon.
After training, I was stationed for many years in Hawaii where I was able to work in Asia and the South Pacific restoring the sight of those blinded by cataracts.
Many of the missions were part of civic action programs where The U.S. Military provided medical services in conjunction with our construction battalion who helped construct dams, schools, etc. In 2005, I worked on the Navy hospital ship USNS Mercy providing care after the tsunami. Perhaps my “best” mission was to Indonesia in 1998 where I met my wife.
I retired from military service in 2007.
I still participate in medical missions every year. Surgical Eye Expeditions (SEE) has generously supported our medical missions by providing the necessary surgical equipment and intraocular lenses to allow us to restore vision to our patients.
I love what I do. Giving the gift of sight is amazing. I will do anything I can to preserve and restore lost vision. Modern cataract surgical techniques allow me to provide highly successful results for our patients.
Travelling has been a big part of my professional and personal life. My wife and I continue to travel when we can, given current COVID restrictions. In addition to Southeast Asia, we love our trips to Europe.
My wife and I are passionate about classical music and go to concerts whenever we can. I also love to play the piano and am always trying to learn something new.
Please make an appointment to see me at either the Willingboro/Sunset Road office or our Browns Mills location.
I look forward to meeting you.
