Dr. Britt J. Parvus is a Board Certified, dual fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in medical retina and ocular oncology. Her clinical interests include nutrition, macular degeneration, ocular tumors, vascular conditions of the retina including diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes and aesthetic medicine. She deeply values the relationships she builds with her patients and is passionate about their wellness as well as restoring and maintaining their precious vision.
Dr. Parvus completed her undergraduate studies at the Pennsylvania State University, where she majored in Nutrition Science due to her passion for wellness and disease prevention. She earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she also completed her residency in ophthalmology and was appointed chief resident. Dr. Parvus was then honored with an ocular oncology fellowship and selected among her peers to serve as chief fellow at Wills Eye Hospital. She subsequently completed a second fellowship in medical retina.
Dr. Parvus pursues continued learning and maintains memberships in both regional and national medical societies including the Wills Eye Hospital Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
She has been recognized for her medical and humanitarian efforts through her work with Haiti Clinic, Inc., where she educates on eye care and has provided medical care for Haitians in Port-au-Prince, including several volunteer trips to Cité Soleil. Since becoming pregnant with her precious daughter, Lisa, in 2017, Dr. Parvus has not physically returned to Haiti to provide her medical and educational services but she hopes to return in the future, preferably with her husband and their Lisa.
Beyond clinical medicine and volunteerism, Dr. Parvus enjoys being active and honoring her relationships with her family and friends, especially her Philadelphia-born husband and Lisa. She believes that goodness will prevail and continues on her personal betterment journey through prayer, relationships, nutrition, exercise and learning. She is happy because she is grateful!
