Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Tammy Schuler
Dr. Tammy Schuler, O.D, has practiced Optometry in Southern New Jersey for the last 15 years. Her specialties include refraction, contact lenses fittings, and evaluation for refractive vision correction. She has been trained in the diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment disease and glaucoma, the diagnosis and post-operative care of cataracts and macular degeneration.
Dr. Schuler’s primary goal in all facets of eye health management is to evaluate patient
needs and recommend treatment to achieve optimal results and provide outstanding patient care. She has worked closely with the hundreds of cataract patients she has referred and for whom she has provided post-operative care, informing them of procedures and available options. Dr. Schuler is among the visually happy post-LASIK patients and uses this experience to extend personal knowledge associated with the procedure and its outcome. As a result, many of her patients have experienced the benefits of the LASIK procedure. Dr. Schuler encourages her patients to take a proactive role in their care and is a strong proponent of continuing education.
Dr. Schuler is licensed to practice in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She attained her Bachelor of Science from Cook College, Rutgers University, and a doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her optometric training she studied at the college’s Feinbloom Center for Low Vision and Pediatric Services, after which she utilized these skills in private practice. Her internships included a rotation at Einstein Hospital Department of Ophthalmology where she earned honors for her study of ophthalmic diseases and treatments and research on “Nutritional Amblyopia”, exploring the ocular manifestations of alcoholism.
Dr. Schuler resides in Southern New Jersey with her husband and three children.
